Provenance Research: Digital Benin

Digital Benin will digitally unite the globally dispersed works of art from the Kingdom of Benin and as an unparalleled forum of knowledge, it will bring together object data and related documentation material from collections worldwide and provide the long-requested overview of the royal artworks looted in the 19th century on an online platform.
Dr. Anne Luther, Director of the Institute for Digital Heritage and Principal Investigator, and Osaisonor Godfrey Ekhator-Obogie, Research Fellow at the Institute for Benin Studies and Research Lead in Benin City, will present the project and give historical contextualization for the objects.

The event will take place as a video conference via the Webex software. Participation is free of charge, but only possible after registration by 10 October 2021. Participants will receive their access data on the day of the event.
